Serve as a project lead or resource for IT projects associated with supported business unit<br />

Enhance personal proficiency and knowledge of county information systems and technology<br />

The Henderson County Rescue Squad is a progressive organization formed in 1957 in Hendersonville, NC. Since our beginnings, we have provided a variety of services, which have grown to meet the needs of an ever-changing community. Currently, the Rescue Squad answers approximately 3800 calls for service annually, ranging from emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports, standby services, and technical rescue operations with a roster of over 120 paid and un-paid rescue professionals. The Rescue Squad is a certified Advanced EMT provider and certified for the following rescue specialties: Heavy Rescue, High Angle, Swiftwater, Dive Rescue, Agricultural Rescue, Confined Space, Structural Collapse, Trench, NC Alpine &amp; Mountain Search and Rescue, and Wilderness Land Search &amp; Rescue.<br />

The Field Shift Supervisor is primarily responsible for performing lifesaving work at emergency and non-emergency scenes and ensuring their assigned shift, apparatus, equipment, and facilities are maintained in appropriate readiness to respond to a variety of lifesaving emergencies and non-emergency transports. Supervising EMT’s and AEMT’s on assigned shifts; ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and medical protocol; instructing, assigning, reviewing, and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; allocating personnel; selecting new employees; acting on employee problems and recommending employee disciplinary action as appropriate. Testing is required and includes a physical ability assessment and pre-employment screens for all finalist applicants.  <br />

Possession of NCOEMS AEMT or NRAEMT credentials or higher credentials or certified EMT and currently enrolled in an AEMT or higher program.<br />

The Henderson County Rescue Squad is a progressive organization formed in 1957 in Hendersonville, NC. Since our beginnings, we have provided a variety of services, which have grown to meet the needs of an ever-changing community. Currently, the Rescue Squad answers approximately 3800 calls for service annually, ranging from emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports, standby services, and technical rescue operations with a roster of over 120 paid and un-paid rescue professionals. About the Position:<br />
Henderson County Rescue Squad is accepting applications for one full-time Field Shift Supervisor. POSITION SUMMARY:<br />
Harnett County's Emergency Medical Services Department is currently seeking an eager, responsible and reliable Emergency Medical Technician to perform basic level life support work when responding to the scene of emergency and non-emergency calls, applying necessary medical treatment to sick and injured persons, and transporting persons to medical appointments and medical facilities.<br />
<br />
Harnett County is nestled in the heart of North Carolina between Raleigh and Fayetteville, covering 641 square miles and taking care of over 130,000 citizens. Harnett County prides itself on having<br />
innovative protocols, providing excellent patient care, and being integrated with today's best practices. Innovative cardiac monitoring is provided to the community with the use of the latest Zoll X Series monitors. The County has 16 Paramedic level ambulances based around the county, 3 BLS transporting units and a wheelchair van each shift that responded to just over 25,000 calls last year. The units are supplied with the power load system from Stryker to prevent injuries to the providers. The County also has a Tactical Medic team that responds with the Harnett County Sheriff's Department during classified situations.<br />
<br />
Harnett County provides a free health clinic for employees and anyone in their household. Continuing education is provided to all staff on a monthly basis. The County pays the annual dues for all part-time and full-time employees to be a member of the North Carolina Association of Rescue and EMS. Harnett County maintains an excellent partnership with Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in which providers attend regular simulation training and use the anatomy (cadaver) lab for real life experience.<br />
<br />
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />
•	Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance; administers Emergency Medical Technician level life support techniques and procedures based on patient assessment; monitor patient status; assists in setting up IV's and assists paramedic with other care.<br />
•	Serves as driver/operator and single caregiver on wheelchair transport van; transports patients to medical facilities, nursing homes and medical appointments as necessary.<br />
•	Gathers patient medical and insurance information from the patient, family members or bystanders and inputs into the computer.<br />
•	Completes necessary records and reports for emergency calls including information for billing documentation and legal accountability.<br />
•	Signs for the chain of custody form for narcotics from off-going crew and maintains responsibility for them until the end of shift or transfer of custody.<br />
•	Participates in a continuous training program to improve competence in medical technical work, ambulance service and operation.<br />
•	Participates in cleaning of ambulance, equipment and EMS facilities.<br />
•	Maintains proper inventory of emergency equipment and supplies.<br />
•	Inspects and tests ambulances and their emergency equipment.<br />

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />
•	Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance; administers Emergency Medical Technician level life support techniques and procedures based on patient assessment; monitor patient status; assists in setting up IV's and assists paramedic with other care.<br />
•	Serves as driver/operator and single caregiver on wheelchair transport van; transports patients to medical facilities, nursing homes and medical appointments as necessary.<br />

POSITION SUMMARY:<br />
Harnett County's Emergency Medical Services Department is currently seeking an eager, responsible and reliable Paramedic to perform professional advanced life support work when operating an approved mobile medical unit, rescuing victims and performing advanced emergency care including the administration of life sustaining treatment to patients on-site and while en route to hospital.<br />
<br />
Harnett County is nestled in the heart of North Carolina between Raleigh and Fayetteville, covering 641 square miles and taking care of over 130,000 citizens. Harnett County prides itself on having innovative protocols, providing excellent patient care, and being integrated with today's best practices. Innovative cardiac monitoring is provided to the community with the use of the latest Zoll X Series monitors. The County has 16 Paramedic level ambulances based around the county, 3 BLS transporting units and a wheelchair van each shift that responded to just over 25,000 calls last year. The units are supplied with the power load system from Stryker to prevent injuries to the providers. The County also has a Tactical Medic team that responds with the Harnett County Sheriff's Department during classified situations.<br />
<br />
Harnett County provides excellent benefits to include health and dental coverage, as well as retirement and a free health clinic for employees and anyone in their household. Continuing education is provided to all staff on a monthly basis and paid at time and a half. The County will contribute to the Firefighters' and Rescue Squad Workers' Pension fund for all full-time employees and pays the annual dues for all part-time and full-time employees to be a member of the North Carolina Association of Rescue and EMS. Harnett County maintains an excellent partnership with Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in which providers attend regular simulation training and use the anatomy (cadaver) lab for real life experience.<br />

Salary will be determined based on years of experience:<br />
Up to two years of experience:&#36;40,774 (&#36;3,397.83 Monthly), includes shift scheduled overtime<br />
Two to five years of experience:  &#36;44,444 (&#36;3,703.67 Monthly), includes shift scheduled overtime<br />
Five or more years of experience: &#36;46,890 (&#36;3,907.50 Monthly), includes shift scheduled overtime<br />
* No penalties or pay deduction for time off, all unscheduled overtime paid at time and a half rate.<br />
<br />
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />
•	Serves as Paramedic in charge on calls, directing care and response and overseeing work of assigned Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician's; supervises students assigned to ride.<br />
•	Responds to emergency calls in an ambulance or quick response vehicle and performs necessary medical care and rescue work in accordance with established protocols for advanced life support; administers necessary emergency medical care requiring the use of a variety of specialized equipment.<br />
•	Performs emergency medical acts in accordance with protocols established by the department and the County's Medical Director; administers cardiac and narcotic medications via intravenous line, administers specified solutions by intravenous infusion, performs pulmonary ventilations and obtains EKG's for cardiac diagnostics.<br />
•	Performs patient assessment and life support techniques in accordance with the approved protocols. <br />
•	Transports patients to local and regional medical facilities, maintaining contact with medical staff while in transport and assuring care of patient; oversees treatment and care for long-term care patients on transport to other facilities, hospitals or doctor's offices.<br />
•	Completes full patient care documentation through various paper and electronic based formats during and after calls for service including information for billing documentation, and legal accountability.<br />
•	Participates in a continuous training program to maintain certification and improve competence in medical technical work and operation; studies street and road patterns and networks of the County in order that future runs may be made with minimum difficulty and delay.<br />
•	Inspects and tests response vehicles and their emergency equipment, maintaining proper inventory of equipment and supplies; cleans and sanitizes equipment daily; ensures that they are in proper and good working order; makes routine adjustments, but reports other than minor defects for specialized attention.<br />
•	Maintains cleanliness and performs minor maintenance of Emergency Medical Service facilities; cleans, sweeps, mops, etc.<br />
•	Provides assistance to members of volunteer emergency medical service organizations, as requested.<br />

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:<br />
•	Considerable knowledge of emergency medical procedures and techniques.<br />
•	Considerable knowledge of equipment and supplies employed in emergency care of patients and accident victims.<br />
•	Considerable knowledge of county geography and locations of roads and streets.<br />
•	Skill in recognizing trauma and signs and symptoms of medical emergencies to determine appropriate treatment.<br />
•	Ability to work with a diverse socioeconomic population based on the unique situations encountered.<br />
•	Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergencies and stressful situations.<br />
•	Ability to safely drive an emergency medical vehicle in adverse conditions and according to motor vehicle laws.<br />
•	Ability to communicate effectively in a tactful and firm manner with the public.<br />
•	Ability to accurately record services provided on required forms.<br />
•	Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-employees and those contacted in the course of work.<br />
•	Ability to maintain vehicles, equipment, and facilities.<br />

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<br />
Education and Experience:<br />
High School or General Education Development Diploma (GED) and some experience in emergency medical service work as a Paramedic; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.<br />
<br />
Licensing and Certifications:<br />
Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License; Certification by the State of North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services as a Paramedic.<br />
<br />
Preferred Certifications:<br />
Basic Life Support certification (BLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification(PALS);  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification (ACLS); International Trauma Life Support certification (ITLS); Prehospital Trauma Life Support certification (PHTLS); Emergency Vehicle Driver certification (EVD); National Incident Management System certification (NIMS); HAZMAT certification.<br />
