Emergency Medical Services Track
Melissa G. Overton, RN, BSN is the Owner and Consultant of MedicalTraining.me, PLLC. Melissa will present “Basic Resuscitation Principles from a Kindergartener's Perspective” and a discussion on possible changes with 2015 AHA Guidelines.
Dr. Tripp Winslow, State of NC OEMS Medical Director will present “OEMS Updates” during his portion of the Training. The session will cover current issues in EMS and also updates on protocols that have recently occurred.
Rescue Track
Brian Barnes, NC Division of Emergency Management Search & Rescue Coordinator & Jimmy Brissie, Co-Owner and Founder of Mountain Tek, Inc. will provide insight and demonstrations on the new NC Alpine & Mountaineering Rescue Standard that will be forthcoming & implemented beginning January 2015. Brian & Jimmy will demonstrate equipment and techniques as well as information on training for the new standard.

The Rescue Classes will be held from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Greenville Convention Center Room C.

Hot Dog Cookout
Come enjoy food and fellowship with your fellow members. Family members are welcomed and encouraged to participate!
The Cookout will be held in the rear of the Greenville Convention Center in the grass area beginning at
5:30PM on Friday, August 8, 2014.
This will be held in conjunction with Technical Rescue Competition. Come out and support your favorite competition team and enjoy a hot dog with all the trimmings. Drinks will be provided as well. Please bring a positive attitude and a chair for your comfort.
NC Task Force 10 (Greenville Fire & Rescue) and the ESF-8 State Medical Assistance Team from Greenville will provide equipment displays along with personnel to discuss the mission of each group. Expected equipment on display will include TF10’s USAR component and the SMAT Team’s Medical Support Unit (MSU - rehab trailer), the Mobile Field Hospital (M8) and the Medical Ambulance Bus (MAB).
