Excuse my ignorance if any. I am researching the benefits of upgrading our fire department from light rescue to medium. We have most of the gear needed to complete this but what is the benefit of upgrading the certification? I have tried to research this but no luck. In general what is the benefit of having a rescue certification anyways versus having the equipment to handle basic extrication? Any input is welcomed!

I am sure I could go to anyone of a number of suppliers and have a NC EMT patch custom made.
Is it possible NCAREMS might offer these any time in the near future?

When registering for this forum, please use your real name, or something similar, and enter your real name and department name into your profile. That will make it a lot easier for me to tell that you are a legitimate user when I'm going through and deleting/banning the bogus/spam-bot users.
Generally speaking, if a new user is registered with a strange user-name from a foreign IP address (outside the U.S.), the user account is going to get banned and the IP addresses will be blocked.
You can save me some research time if you just enter your department name into the squad/department field on your profile, so I know you are a real, EMS/Rescue member. If you're here to post relevant information about classes or related products, please enter the name of your institution in the department field so I know who you're representing.
In the interest of saving time, I'm going to act swiftly to prune bogus/spam accounts. If your first post is "Hi, I'm single and hot", you'll be banned immediately, and permanently. Just FYI.
